| Nigel Fealy, RN, MN, ACCCN Clinical Nurse Educator Department of Intensive Care Austin Hospital Melbourne, Vic. Australia Melbourne, Vi Australia Nigel is the Clinical Nurse Educator for the Intensive Care Unit and Post Registration Intensive care course at Austin Health, Melbourne, Australia.
Nigel has been working in Intensive Care since 1992 having completed Graduate Diploma’s in both Critical Care Nursing and Education.
He has worked in various roles in the Intensive Care Unit including Clinical Nurse Specialist, Associate Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Resource Nurse.
Nigel has demonstrated a keen interest in the practical application of CRRT and more recently hybrid techniques such as EDD-f and SLEDD.
In conjunction with Professor Rinaldo Bellomo and Professor Ian Baldwin, Nigel has been actively involved in numerous research trials for RRT pertaining to sepsis, dose and filter life.
Nigel has recently completed his Masters by research thesis in renal replacement therapy comparing regional citrate anticoagulation to regional heparin anticoagulation in CVVH. Nigel has authored and co–authored a number of publications pertaining to renal replacement therapies and current areas of interest include filter life in CRRT, liver support therapies and education of CRRT.
