| Faeq Husain-Syed, MD Giessen, He GERMANY Faeq Husain-Syed, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of Nephrology at the University Hospital Giessen and Marburg, Germany. He completed medical school at Goethe University Frankfurt and postgraduate training in internal medicine, nephrology, pulmonology, critical care medicine, and emergency medicine at the University of Giessen. He further completed a research fellowship in critical care nephrology at the International Renal Research Institute of Vicenza, Italy, and served as Visiting Professor of Nephrology at the University of Virginia, USA. His clinical and research work focuses on critical care nephrology and cardio-pulmonary-renal interactions, with emphasis on ARDS and AKI, extracorporeal organ support, and Doppler- and biomarker-based approaches to characterize renal congestion and kidney dysfunction resulting from right-sided heart failure.  |
