James Odum, Assistant Professor Birmingham, AL USA Dr. James Odum is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Children's Mercy Kansas City followed by completion of his Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He joined the faculty at UAB in 2022 and is Assistant Director of the Pediatric and Infant Center for Acute Nephrology (PICAN) at Children's of Alabama. Dr. Odum's translational research is focused on delineating mechanisms responsible for varying sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) endotypes using preclinical models with a particular focus on interrogating the role of viral infections in mediating the development of hyperferritinemic SA-AKI.
