Pinelopi Kapitsinou, MD Chicago, IL USA Pinelopi Kapitsinou, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Northwestern University. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Kapitsinou is particularly attracted to questions arising from caring of patients with acute kidney injury and her research efforts are geared to the urgent need for innovation in nephrology. Her laboratory investigates the role of PHD/HIF signaling pathway in hypoxic kidney injury and kidney homeostasis. Dr. Kapitsinou’s research program integrates genetic, biochemical and cell biological approaches in vivo and in vitro systems to generate novel insights in kidney disease that may lead to discovery of novel therapeutic targets.
