Ashita Tolwani, MD Birmingham, AL USA Ashita Tolwani, MD (MSc),Professor of Medicine. Dr. Tolwani is also the Associate Director for the Nephrology fellowship program at UAB and Associate Director of ICU Nephrology at UAB. Dr. Tolwani completed her nephrology fellowship at UAB and joined the Division as a faculty member. She received a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Her interests are in clinical outcomes research in nephrology, specifically with issues concerning continuous renal replacement therapy in patients with acute kidney injury in the intensive care unit. Her other research interests include the use of anticoagulants during continuous renal replacement therapy.
