Derek Angus, Dr. Pittsburgh, PA USA Derek C. Angus, MD, MPH Derek Angus is a physician-scientist, health services researcher, and clinical trialist. He is a Distinguished Professor and the Mitchell P. Fink Endowed Chair in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, where he chairs the Department of Critical Care Medicine and serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Healthcare Innovation. He is also a senior editor at JAMA. He studies sepsis and pneumonia, as well as the organization and delivery of acute care services. His focus over the last decade has been on methods to improve learning in health care, including adaptive platform trial designs, machine learning, and decision sciences.
