Marla Levy, Survivor & Patient A DANVILLE, CA United States Marla Levy will be sharing her journey through four open heart surgeries, and six days on life support which caused AKI and then CKD. Since her recent recovery, she has been passionate about partnering with the medical community in hopes to shine light on how she experienced the continuum of care in both the acute care setting and also in the outpatient dialysis center. Hearing Marla’s story allows others to see the world through a patient’s eyes. It is a completely different perspective which cannot help but evoke new questions on how nephrology patients are treated today, and how to help them avoid the unnecessary pitfalls they continue to fall into. Her honesty, candor and humor are both refreshing and educational.
