Subhashini Bolisetty, PhD Birmingham, AL USA Dr. Subhashini Bolisetty is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Bolisetty’s research program focuses on the role of ferritin and iron metabolism during kidney injury. Her biography includes 36 peer-reviewed manuscripts, a book chapter and several reviews, the former appearing in journals such as the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Kidney International, Circulation Research, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology as well as others. She is a recipient of several awards including the Joseph Reeves award for excellence in research. Her research has been funded by multiple sources including the American Heart Association, NIH and ASN. Dr. Bolisetty has been invited to present at national and international meetings including the American Society of Nephrology and International conferences on HO and BioIron. Dr. Bolisetty has an active role in teaching, research and mentorship in the UAB graduate school. She participates in several teaching courses for graduate students and medical students. She also serves as a founding member of the UAB Early Career Peer Mentoring group, which helps to facilitate transition of postdoctoral scholars to independence. She serves as an Editor for the Renal Iron Handling In Health and Disease research topic for Frontiers in Immunology and also serves as a reviewer for multiple journals including the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, American Journal of Physiology - Renal Physiology and Frontiers in Immunology as well as others.
